We strongly recommend booking your hotel early to secure the best rates and availability. The following options are located within a short distance of the Grand Théâtre National de Dakar, the official summit venue.

All international flights arrive at Blaise Diagne international Airport, approximately 50 kilometers from downtown Dakar, Depending on traffic, the drive takes between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Many hotels offer airport pickup via shuttle service, and we recommend arranging this in advance to ensure a smooth arrival. Taxis are readily available just outside the arrivals terminal at Blaise Diagne International Airport, but it’s important to agree on the fare before departing. Ride-hailing apps such as Yango and other local taxi services also operate reliably in Dakar. For the best experience, we recommend arriving at least one day before the summit begins.
The local currency in Senegal is the West African CFA franc. Credit cards are accepted at some hotels, restaurants, and shops, though it is always advisable to carry some cash. ATMs are widely available throughout Dakar for convenient access to local currency. French is the official language, while Wolof is also commonly spoken in everyday interactions. To stay connected, visitors can purchase local SIM cards from providers such as Orange, Free, or Expresso, either at the airport or in the city. Senegal is in the GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) time zone, which is the same as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+0). For the Afritech Business Summit, business professional attire is recommended, and given Dakar’s warm climate, light and breathable clothing is ideal.
